Junnikkala Oy guarantees that the used wood does not originate from nature reserves or other areas where the procurement of wood would endanger significant natural values. Junnikkala Oy is always aware of the origin of its wood. Junnikkala Oy supports and encourages forest sellers and sub-contractors to apply such methods of forestry that ensure the forest nature diversity and reduce adverse effects on waterways and scenery.

Junnikkala Oy and wood suppliers agree mutually on methods of utilisation for the forest, in conjunction with the procurement of wood, that satisfy both parties by signing a nature appendix.
Junnikkala Oy also demands of other wood procuring organisations that the wood bought from them fulfils the same requirements which are set for our own wood procurement. Junnikkala Oy cooperates with the Forestry Society "Metsänhoitoyhdistys" and the Forestry Centre "Metsäkeskus" in order to, among others, improve forest care programmes.

Junnikkala Oy prefers logging contractors, who take environmental aspects into consideration in their activities, manners of logging, selection and maintenance of machines as well as in preparation for damages. Junnikkala Oy's goal is to control and decrease the environmental impacts possibly caused to the environment, possibilities to use it for multiple purposes, the landscapes and neighbours by the procurement and transportation of wood. The Finnish Forest Certification organisation has admitted Junnikkala Oy the SMS 1003 - 1 certificate about the point of origin declaration of wood.

Junnikkala Oy was granted with the environmental certificate standard ISO 14001 in 2001. To fulfil and improve the care of our environment evaluations as well as internal and external controls are regularly done.
