The national Finnish Forest Certification System (FFCS), which is approved by the international PEFC-certification organisation, is taken in use 1999. The FFCS certificate fulfils all requirements of the PEFC-system. In the certificate is laid down requirements for the care and the use of forests, the origin declaration of the timber as well as standards for the external control of the timber quality. Like other forest certification systems also the FFCS certification criterions are divided in economical, social and ecological goals. Two third of the criterions are expansions of the nowadays legislation and one third answers the nowadays legislation requirement level. The criterions were checked in 2002-2003 and in the spring 2005 the checked criterions got the agreement of the PEFC. |
